This Thursday, August 17, at 6:30 pm, the Woodbury Community Library opens its doors and windows in the evening for a reading and homemade dessert with two local and award-winning poets. Readings are usually about an hour in length. All are welcome.
Former director of the Woodbury Community Library, Merry Gangemi was also a co-editor of Sinister Wisdom, and producer and host of Woman-Stirred Radio, an LGBT cultural journal broadcast from WGDR in Plainfield. Winner of the Audre Lorde Creative Writing Award, Gangemi’s poems and fiction have appeared in numerous publications, including Paterson Literary Review, Journal of NJ Poets, River Oak Review, and Chroma, a literary journal based in London.
Samn Stockwell’s poems have graced the pages of The New Yorker, Ploughshares, and Agni, among others, and her two books, Theater of Animals and Recital, have garnered the National Poetry Series and the Editor’s Prize at Elixir, respectively.
