Mac Lanphear regaled a small but enthusiastic crowd last Friday night, with his tales of spending an afternoon in the company of a Vermont falconer. Did you know falcons can be trained by their love for London broil, or that they spend hours waiting patiently for prey to appear? Did you know these avian beauties soar along air currents to conserve their caloric energy? Woodbury’s very own Mac held a falcon on his leather-glove-covered wrist and brought the story home.
A Hazen freshman, Mac provided a polished, knowledgeable, and entertaining evening. Plus, his mother brought cookies. Terrific!
